Matthew ArnoldMatthew Arnold, PTA

Matthew comes to Grand Traverse Pavilions with more than 13 years of experience as a physical therapist assistant in a variety of settings including skilled nursing facilities, outpatient, aquatic therapy and home care. Growing up in Traverse City, Matthew developed a passion for physical activity, helping others, and the outdoors. He and his wife are busy raising two daughters, involved in multiple school activities and extracurricular sports. They enjoy spending time with friends, family, and everything the area has to offer. 


 

Carrie BaldwinCarrie Baldwin, PT, MPT

Carrie has been a physical therapist at The Wellness Center for 22 years and was lucky enough to assist in the development of the aquatic therapy program and watch it grow over the last 2 decades. She has been a PT for 27 years, completing her Master’s in Physical Therapy at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Related Sciences. Her specialty is aquatic therapy, where she enjoys working with all ages and ability levels to assist them in reaching their fitness goals. 

In her free time, Carrie enjoys spending time with her family and extended family, gardening, hiking                                                                           in Northern Michigan’s beautiful outdoors, and anything she can do in and around the water. 


 

Kristi ClarkKristi Clark, PTA

Kristi is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, and has been working with individuals of all ages for over 20 years. Kristi is certified in Aquatic Physical Therapy and HawkGrips instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). Kristi enjoys treating diverse diagnoses and brainstorming the best                                                                                    approach to helping her clients achieve their goals.


 

Amy ConesetAmy Coneset, PT, MPT

Amy attended Grand Valley State University, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Amy has experience in sub-acute rehab, outpatient orthopedics, ergonomic work site assessment, home care, and is trained in Graston technique of (IASTM). Amy has special interest in manual therapy and treating those with neurological diagnoses.

Chris completed a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Oakland University in 2008. Chris has experience working with patients with a variety of diagnoses including musculoskeletal dysfunction, vestibular conditions, and neurologic disorders. Chris is a certified exercise expert for the aging adult (CEEAA) and enjoys using a combination of manual therapy, exercise, and education to help his                                                                                                     patients achieve their goals.


 

Erica Nesvig-PaddockErica Nesvig-Paddock, PT, MPT

Erica graduated with a Master's degree in Physical Therapy in 1997 from The College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota and has over 20 years’ experience as a physical therapist. Erica is trained in the Graston technique IASTM and has special interests in orthopedics, balance dysfunction, and vestibular rehabilitation.


 

Ann ParkerAnn Parker, PT

Ann graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor's degree in science. Ann has over 30 years of clinical experience in a wide variety of settings with extensive orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, neuromuscular rehab and manual therapy experience. Ann has been a Tai Chi instructor since 2000 and volunteers by serving on the Parkinson’s Network North (PNN) Board of Directors and Education Committee.


 

Mitch RunyonMitch Runyon, PTA

Mitch is a PTA graduate from Baker College of Auburn Hills. Mitch has a vast experience working with the geriatric population, as well as neurological settings with a specialization in TBI and SCI interventions with specific techniques to improve neuro re-education and tone management. In his free time, Mitch enjoys playing subpar golf and hiking with his Dog.

Kristen graduated with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University in 2003. Kristen has experience in many settings including home health, acute care, outpatient, and sub-acute rehabilitation. Kristen enjoys manual therapy, balance training, Kinesiotaping, Graston                                                                                                     technique, and neurological rehabilitation.


 

Jill ScharfenbergJill Scharfenberg, PTA

Jill is a Physical Therapy Assistant and Certified Personal Trainer with a specialty in senior fitness. Jill has over 13 years of experience working with the senior population in acute and post-acute care settings. Jill also teaches group exercise classes for seniors in assisted living and independent facilities on the medical campus. Jill previously worked for Grand traverse Pavilions 5 years ago and has returned to work with our therapy team. She is delighted to be back and working with caring and supportive colleagues.

When not working, Jill enjoys spending time outside in the beauty of Traverse City, and spending                      time with her family.  


 

Paige WaldronPaige Waldron, PTA

Paige is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with an associate degree from Whatcom Community College in Washington State and a B.A. in Psychology from Calvin College. Paige has been practicing for 10 years and has experience in acute care, acute inpatient rehab, and subacute rehab. Paige enjoys working with all ages and diagnoses and loves challenging her patients to reach their highest potential and seeing their progress from week to week.


 Occupational Therapy

Jessica CobbJessica Cobb, OTR/L

Jessica attended Western Michigan University where she received a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Health Services in 2007 and a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy in 2008. Jessica’s clinical experience includes the hospital/acute care setting, inpatient rehabilitation, sub-acute rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, and long-term care. Jessica’s passion is working with adults and the geriatric population in order to help them recover, improve, and maintain skills needed to achieve independence for daily living. Jessica is trained in Graston technique and her special interests include upper extremity rehabilitation, splinting, hand therapy, and wheelchair seating and positioning.


 

Michael NewberryMichael Newberry

Michael joined the Pavilions team full time in October 2024. He previously worked as an OT on-call here from 2020-2022. Michael graduated from Southwestern Michigan college with an associates of science degree in biology, and an associates of arts degree in music. He then went on to WMU and earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science, and then Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. He has worked in various settings doing travel therapy in Oregon, Washington, California, and Nevada. He has experience with many acute and subacute diagnosis, and prefers to work with neurological rehabilitation.


 

Kelsea RobinsonKelsea Robinson, COTA

Kelsea was a collegiate athlete at Glen Oaks Community College then transferred to Baker College of Owosso where she earned a certificate in Medical Assisting and two associates degrees including an Associates in Health Science Technology and Occupational Therapy Assisting. Kelsea has been a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for 3 years with experience in acute and sub-acute rehab, day programs for specialized adult care, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy and home assessments/modifications. Kelsea has a passion for working with older adults as well as individuals with developmental delays. Her goal is to help others reach their highest level of independence and have fun while doing it! Kelsea enjoys hiking, playing softball, and spending time with her husband and pets. Kelsea also enjoys bringing her dog Hazel to                                                           work where she loves to visit our patients/residents on Hazel Fridays!


 

Jordan ShulerJordan Shuler, OTR/L

Jordan received a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in recreational therapy and a master’s degree from Grand Valley State University in occupational therapy. Jordan graduated from GVSU in August of 2024 and has worked with the older adult population for many years as a CNA and activities aid. Jordan is originally from the Lansing area and moved to Traverse City in the summer of 2024. Jordan enjoys reading, hiking, going to the beach, and spending time with her family!


 

Ashley TarrasAshley Tarras, OTR/L

Ashley attended Michigan State University graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Health Promotion, followed by receiving Master’s in Science in Occupational Therapy in 2011 from Western Michigan University. Ashley is certified in the fitting and ordering of Saebo dynamic orthoses to maximize upper extremity functioning post stroke, trained in the Graston technique of IASTM, as well as an Aging in Place specialist. Ashley has special interest in low vision, neurological disorders, and home modifications.


 Speech and Language Pathology

Jackie AicherJackie Aicher, SLP

Jackie attended Rush University in Chicago where she received her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.  She has experience working in the schools, outpatient therapy setting for adults and pediatrics, sub-acute rehab, and long-term care.  She is certified in the LSVT LOUD treatment program for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.


 

Lindsey BenedictLindsey Benedict, SLP

Lindsay is originally from north of Pittsburgh, PA and received her Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2012 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Lindsay has spent her career working in sub-acute, long-term care, and outpatient settings. Lindsay feels there is nothing better than helping someone achieve their goals!


 

Jessica NewberryJessica Newberry, SLP

Jessica completed her Master’s in speech pathology at the University of Iowa, then returned home to the west coast and worked in a variety of settings as a Speech-Language Pathologist, including hospitals, home health, outpatient adult and pediatric clinics, schools, and skilled nursing. Jessica is certified in LVST LOUD for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease, and is clinically competent as an endoscopist, providing Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing (FEES).

Jessica’s areas of specialty include swallow, FEES, voice, and cognitive therapy, particularly for individuals following motor vehicle accidents, stroke, and with neurological disorders.


 Aquatic Exercise Instructors

Renee DowswellRenee Dowswell

Renee is a Certified Aquatic Instructor who was previously a long time Aftercare and Ai Chi participant at the Wellness Center. Renee is dedicated to the Grand Traverse Pavilions Wellness Center and believes there are benefits to being in the warm water that allow us to do things that we would never be able to do on land. It is Renee’s goal to get you fit while having fun.

Jennifer JohnsonJennifer Johnson

Jennifer has worked at the Grand Traverse Pavilions for the past 34 years.  She has worked in various offices throughout the years and settled into the outpatient therapy office in April of 2023.  She enjoys interacting with the patients when they come in and seeing them get better.  When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren in Mancelona.
