A Wholistic Approach to Wellness:

How Therapy Services Support Independence and Quality of Life

Wellness includes more than medical care alone. Strength, mobility, communication, cognition, and confidence all contribute to overall quality of life.

The Grand Traverse Pavilions Wellness Center provides therapy services that support individuals across different living settings.

These services may include:

  • physical therapy to support strength, balance, and mobility
  •  occupational therapy to support independence in daily activities
  •  speech therapy for communication and cognitive support
  • swallow evaluations, including fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES)
  • LSVT LOUD therapy for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease
  • cognitive therapy strategies
  • aquatic therapy for low-impact strengthening

These services reflect a wholistic approach that considers the full picture of a person’s wellbeing.

Ann McMann, Residential Services Director at the Grand Traverse Pavilions, emphasizes that maintaining independence often involves small improvements that make daily life easier.

“Wellness looks different for each person. Sometimes therapy helps someone regain strength after an illness. Other times it helps maintain abilities that support independence.”

Supporting mobility, communication, and confidence can make a meaningful difference in daily life.

When maintaining strength, mobility, or communication becomes a priority, therapy services can help support independence and quality of life. We are here to help you learn more. Give us a call at Call 231-932-3000 or email anytime.  We are here to help.
